I had a great stay at The Lodge At Nakoma, enjoying the stunning mountain scenery and the great restaurant. The facilities were impressive, especially the large pool and game room. However, the service could be hit or miss, and the lack of breakfast options was a bit inconvenient.

I had high expectations when I booked my stay at The Lodge At Nakoma, but unfortunately, it fell short in several areas. While the location offers some stunning views and great hiking trails around the lakes, the service left much to be desired, and the accommodations could definitely use some updating. Although dining options were limited, I did find the sandwiches delicious. Overall, I had some enjoyable moments, but significant improvements are needed. 😕

Rooms

The rooms felt outdated with stained carpets and old appliances. I was disappointed that both rooms had king beds instead of twins, and the linens were not fresh. One of the toilets also clogged during my stay.

The front desk staff seemed disempowered and unhelpful. When I needed to adjust my reservation, I encountered issues and felt that the management was inaccessible.
Location

The location is beautiful, nestled in the mountains with great hiking opportunities, which was definitely a high point of my stay.
Dining

Dining options were quite limited, with only one decent restaurant within 30 miles, but I enjoyed the delicious sandwiches from the on-site restaurant.

The facilities were lacking; while I appreciated the scenic views and potential for relaxing at the spa, I found the spa services were booked out for a year in advance.

My stay at The Lodge At Nakoma had its ups and downs. The location is scenic, but I found the noise from the nearby road quite distracting. While the staff was friendly and the ambiance was appealing, I had some frustrations regarding my booking and the overall layout of the lodge.

My room was spacious but felt designed for just one person. there wasn't much storage for a second guest's items. Additionally, the bathroom layout was a bit inconvenient, especially the shower setup, which was poorly designed.
Service

The staff I interacted with were personable and professional, making the check-in process smooth. However, my experience with the reservation system could have been better. I spent a fair amount of time addressing issues with my booking.
Location

The lodge is ideally located in the mountains, which provides beautiful views. but I was surprised at how close it is to the road, resulting in constant highway noise when outside.
Dining

I enjoyed meals at the Bistro where the staff was attentive. The menu featured premium meats, which I appreciated. though I would have preferred a more accessible dining option without the distance from my room.
Facilities
7.0
The amenities like the pool and spa were a bit of a hike from the lodge, which was inconvenient. but they were well-maintained and enjoyable when I finally got there.
